Adam McPhilbin

Videographer + Editor

Adam McPhilbin is an experiences Cinematographer, Camera Operator, Camera Assistant, Editor, Colourist and Visual Effects Compositor based in Liverpool, New South Wales. Since graduating with a Diploma in Camera Fundamentals from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in 2016, he has had a number of works showcased on Australian Television as well as many well-known social media platforms.

Whilst he is best known for his work with ABC iview for his Cinematography in 'Nightwalkers' (2019), his clients have ranged from Google, Lovefrankie, KIIS FM, Ubisoft and Foxtel. He has further been involved in various camera operating roles on the ABC's 'Carla and Lisa's Countdown of Australia Arts Series, Channel 7's 'Fat Pizza Back in Business' (season 1) as well as a Camera Intern and Camera Assistant on a documentary directed by Maya Newell and Michael Steel titled "Ngal Lo Wah Murrytula".

Adam is well versed in working with influencers which is demonstrated through his regular work for some of Australia's top social media content creators such as Frenchy, The Roundabout Crew, Neel Kolhatkar, Jayden Rodrigues and SketchShe. he has also, at times, been invited to film red carpet interviews for movie premieres including 'The Mummy' and 'Thor: Ragnorak', where he had the opportunity to film celebrity interviews with Tom Cruise, Taika Watiti, Chris Hemsworth, Russell Crowe and Mark Ruffalo.

Despite Adam's national success, he continues to enjoy creating videos for local media art organisations such as Curiousworks, Milk Crate Theatre and Phoenixeye and is passionate about social causes which is demonstrated in his involvement in the social media campaign 'Creators for Change' (2018). He prides himself in his role as an emerging leader in his local community and enjoys using his skill set in digital media education and storytelling to amplify the voices of the communities he works with. In addition to helping members of the community share their own stories, he goes one step further and also creates social media video content, sharing his expertise of video editing and various camera tips and tricks with the community to help provide them with the skills to be able to share their own stories. This also extends to the sharing of exclusive McFilmin behind the scenes footage from his film shoots, some of which have been shared by Unilad Tech's Facebook page and become viral.
