Bethany Simons

Facilitating Artist

Bethany Simons is an award-winning writer, performer and teaching artist hailing from Regional NSW. As a maker, she creates character and story-based performance works. Her original stage productions, The Weather and Your Health and Reception: The Musical received numerous industry nods, including 4 Green Room nominations and Best Cabaret at the 2014 Melbourne Fringe. Both works were selected for the VCE Drama Playlist and have toured nationally to more than 60 venues.

​In 2012, Bethany received the Victorian State Touring Award for 'outstanding contribution to regional arts and culture' in recognition of grass-roots community engagement which always involves food and story-exchange.

​Bethany has collaborated with arts companies around the country including Australian National Academy of Music, Melbourne Youth Music, Milk Crate Theatre and Southern Cross Soloists. An active facilitator and guest speaker, she conducts writing, storytelling, vocal and drama workshops across education, arts and community settings. She has appeared as narrator and voice-over artist for live concerts, broadcasts and podcasts, and was formerly Program Director of Theatre Network Australia.
